Grade 4 - Grade 6

My name is Christine Paglia Baker, and I am the Essential Skills teacher for fourth, fifth, and sixth graders at Leverett Elementary School. I have taught at LES since the fall of 2011.  Before teaching Essential Skills, I taught fourth and fifth grade at LES, and fourth grade at Martin Luther King, Jr. Charter School in Springfield, MA.

I began my education career in 2001, working with visitors of all ages at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick, ME. I went on to work as a museum educator at the Clark Art Institute, the Williams College Museum of Art, and the Yale University Art Gallery. I received my Master’s degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2010, my Master’s degree in Art History from Williams College in 2005, and my bachelor’s degree in Art History and Spanish from Bowdoin College in 2000.

I continue to bring my background in art and visual thinking to my teaching in the classroom. In my free time, I enjoy making art, practicing yoga, visiting museums, and hiking with my family.
